V BIENNIAL of HUMOR "LUIZ D'OLIVEIRA GUIMARAES" - Penela 2016 - Deadline - June 25, 2016

Will the artists themselves, are aware of their role as graphic humorists in contemporary society? Will be simple comic in developing laughable burlesque or everyday philosophers? Simple clowns laugh or wake up consciences? They will be able to synthesize the design what it is your profession? / Function?

Everyone knows the allegory of the ant and the grasshopper, but no one speaks of the humorist bee, this being that with the pollen of news and everyday is the honey of our existence but that with its stinger, when necessary also pica ills society, fundamentalisms, dictatorships. The thematic challenge this year's V Biennial Penela Humor (Portugal) is the proper mood or role of the cartoonist in today's society, which can be presented as an allegorical / parodic trip with bee universe, that being that disappear humanity has no more than four years of existence (as advocated Einstein) and this philosophical art of seeing the world that is disappearing also signal the demise of mankind. At the same time we give way to self-caricatures and cartoons of professional companions.

How can you participate?

 a) The easiest - simple moods on the bee, honey, their ecological importance and therapy.

b) Easy - Self-portraits and caricatures-charge of other graphic humorists.

c) more difficult and more interesting - Parodies, allegories about the work of the bee and the graphic humorist - This should be philosophical (force us to think) as pure or just comic honey as honey processed? It should be therapeutic (the "apitherapy" as "geloterapia" are fundamental alternative medicines because laughter, byproduct of humor, when "explodes" exerts its impact on the muscular system, central nervous, respiratory, cardiovascular, immune and endocrine .... ) or cause allergy, violent reaction to the sting of the bee and satire? How to fight for victory humor / bee against oppression, censorship, terrorism, fundamentalisms / parasitic disease Varroa mites, wasp Velutina Nigotorax .... ? It is mandatory the presence of bee these pictures of what should be the contemporary cartoonismo.

We can not forget the allergies that have developed against the sting of satire / irony, fear of terrorist wasp that has killed, persecuted, oppressed philosophers of freedom and today living an important moment in the game the tolerances and intolerances. Let us not forget that integration only works when the other also integrates, tolerance requires tolerance, intolerance creates intolerance. 1 - Theme: "Honey to Stinger" - we invite artists from around the world to philosophize about the role the humorist / cartoonist and parallel the role of bee / honey (and other derivatives, in addition to their role in biodiversity) in our society. 2 - Open to the participation of all graphic artists with humor, professional or amateur.

3 - Deadline: 25 June 2016. They should be sent to humorgrafe.oms@gmail.com, humorgrafe@hotmail.com or humorgrafe_oms@yahoo.com (If you do not receive confirmation receipt resend new SFF).

4 - Each artist can send via e-mail in digital format (300 dpis A4) up to 4 monochrome works (one color with all its nuances - not accepted drawings 2, 3 or 4 colors -open to all techniques and styles as caricature, cartoon, humor design, strip, plank bd (story in a single board) ... which must be accompanied with information of name, date of birth, address and e-mail.

5 - Entries will be judged by a jury consisting of: representatives of the Municipality of Penela; Spinal representative of the Parish Council; representative of the family Oliveira Guimarães; the Artistic Director of the Biennale; a representative of the sponsors, a local media representative and two guest artists, and awarded the following prizes:

* 1st Prize V BHLOG- 2016 (worth € 1,800)

* 2nd Prize of V BHLOG- 2016 (worth € 1,300)

* 3rd Prize of V BHLOG- 2016 (worth € 800)

* Mood Revelation Prize V BHLOG- 2016 (worth € 250) (for national authors under 25 years old).

The jury, at its discretion, may grant "Special Awards" António Oliveira Guimarães, Municipality of Penela, Junta de Freguesia do Espinhal and Humorgrafe), the honorific title, complete with trophy.

6 - The jury granted the right to make a selection of the best works to exhibit in the space and catalog edition (which will be sent to all artists with work reproduced).

7 - The Organization shall inform all artists by email if you were selected for the exhibition and catalog, and which the winning artists. The works awarded compensation, are automatically acquired by the Organization. The originals of the winning entries must be submitted to the Organization (the original work made the computer is a high quality print in A4, signed by hand and numbered 1/1), because without such delivery, the monetary prize will not be unlocked.

8 - reproduction rights are owned by the Organization, as soon as to promote this organization, and occasionally discussed with the authors in the case of other uses.
